Creating Some Real Romance for Bridgerton
IT’S NOT EVERY DAY YOU GET TO WRITE A SCRIPT FOR A 3-time OSCAR WINNER…
Bridgerton reimagined the period drama and crafted a regency fantasy that invites more of the world to escape into its ballrooms than ever before. This has granted the show a cult following and its cultural impact radiates through culture in countless ways. One noticed by my team was the popularity of Bridgerton (style) weddings, with regency glamor currently the leading trend in contemporary bridal style and fashion. So, to drum-up excitement ahead of Bridgerton Season 3 we decided to give two passionate fans a very real Bridgerton wedding.
But… that wasn’t enough for me. Too often brands and advertising agencies pour money and time into creating a ‘real’ event/experience and then think of ‘content capture’ as a secondary element. I knew we were creating a story fans would love to watch so instead I took our Wedding and transformed it into a (mini) reality series. I combined the troupes of reality TV with the tenets of Bridgerton to create a series that stylistically and aesthetically bridged the two worlds.
The result was something truly unique that fans and non-fans loved (we were asked countless times to turn our mini-series into a Netflix show in its own right). It was featured in print in Vogue, People, Essence, The Times (and more) on countless talkshows from the View to Good Morning America.
So, find a comfy spot for the next 30 minutes, grab a box of tissues and binge the entire series of the Event of the Season: A (Real) Bridgerton Wedding.
